Our Green Initiatives in Action
From innovative recycling programs to renewable energy solutions, Craigieburn Central is dedicated to sustainability. Our efforts include:
- Organic Recycling: Our two Pulp Master organic machines recycle an impressive 6 tons of organic material each month, including food scraps and other compostable waste. This helps divert waste from landfill and supports eco-friendly disposal.
- Renewable Energy Use: Our solar panels on the roof harness the power of the sun, saving 6 tons of energy annually and achieving a 4.5-star electricity rating. That’s equivalent to powering X homes sustainably!
- Waste Reduction: By encouraging recycling and waste management, we’ve significantly reduced our waste output, saving over 400 bin liners each month. While our diversion rate is currently 28%, we’re committed to improving this further.
- Recycling Community: We process over 3.5 million bottles and cans every month through our container recycling units. Plus, our coffee grind recycling program transforms 9 tons of coffee waste annually, with local residents receiving between 5-10 cents per can or bottle recycled.
- Achievements You Can Be Proud Of: Our efforts have earned us a 5-star water rating and the recycling of 40 tons of cooking oil and 260 tons of paper and cardboard yearly. Every step counts!
